Scholarship Benefits

1. The selected applicant will be awarded a full scholarship, covering the cost of participation in the Group Coaching program for 6 months.
2. They will join the Group Coaching program, which includes a 6-month curriculum with weekly workbooks, daily writing sprints, weekly Q&A sessions with experienced writing coaches and regular feedback on your work. The program also includes all the benefits of The Process – access to The Dashboard story planning tools, weekly professional feedback on writing submitted to the critique queue and regular webinars.
3. The recipient may be recognized on Now Novel’s website, social media platforms, or other promotional materials, highlighting their achievement and showcasing their writing talent.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants must be aspiring writers who are passionate about improving their writing skills and dedicated to their craft.
2. Applicants must make a full commitment to the 6-month Group Coaching program and be able to attend the daily writing sprints and weekly Q&As.
3. Open to individuals aged 25 and above, regardless of location or background.
4. Financial need may be considered but will not be the sole determining factor for eligibility.

Application Process

1. Applicants must complete an online application form (link at the top of the page), which includes personal information, a brief biography, writing samples, and a statement of intent outlining their writing goals, aspirations, and how they believe the Group Coaching program will benefit them.
2. Applicants should submit a selection of their original writing, such as a short story, an excerpt from a novel, or poetry, to showcase their writing abilities.
3. On request only: Applicants may be requested to submit one or two letters of recommendation from individuals who are familiar with their writing skills, character and work ethic.

Selection Process

1. Evaluation: Applications will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by a selection committee consisting of Now Novel representatives and writing coaches.
2. Merit-Based Selection: Selection will be based on the quality of the writing samples, the applicant’s statement of intent, their commitment to writing, and their potential to benefit from the Group Coaching program.
3. Consideration of Financial Need: Financial need will be evaluated in conjunction with the applicant’s qualifications.

Timeline

1. Application Period: Applications will be opened a few times a year for about one month, allowing interested individuals to submit their applications. 2. Review and Selection: The selection committee will review and evaluate the applications.
3. Notification: The selected scholarship recipient will be notified personally via email about two weeks before the start of the program. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified.
